As a resident of Jefferson County and a parent, I feel that a safe and welcoming pool is essential to the future wellbeing of the area. Our kids need to learn water safety from a young
age, and the best place to do that is in a pool. The pool is also an important part of keeping adults, especially older adults, active and healthy. We also absolutely need a pool
that is regulation length so our kids can effectively compete in swim meets and so we can host swim team events.
I truly hope that the city of Port Townsend and Jefferson County can pass a resolution and funding for a new pool that includes 2 separate tanks; a 25 meter tank for lap swimming and
a tank for water aerobics and general water play.
The peninsula needs this facility! I am a taxpayer and am happy to help pay for a pool through property taxes. Is there a way that people could opt in for greater payments while others
pay a minimum?
