According to news reports, <https://jurassicparliament.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=aba85aa51e0091ebbfd67968a&id=945da92a74&e=6595b66 330> Damion Green felt it would be narcissistic to vote for himself, so he didn't. Then, when the results were tallied, Green lost to his opponent Ryan Roth by one vote: 247 for Roth, 246 for Green. It took a month for the county to review and recount the ballots to be certain of the result. To me, failing to vote for yourself shows a mistaken understanding. If you're going to run at all, you ought to have the confidence to believe that you are worthy of a vote. Do you agree? Or are you happy that Damion Green followed the footsteps of Abraham Lincoln, who did not vote for himself in the 1860 presidential election? You direct the meeting, you exercise firm control over how it proceeds, but the council or board itself is the final authority.
