Chairman Daryl Gillette called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m. in the presence of Member Pete Raab. Vice-
Chairman Margaret Taylor was absent.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Gillette moved to approve of the Regular Meeting Minutes of May 11, 2023 Member Raab
seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
REVIEW OF ASSESSMENT CORRECTIONS AND PETITIONS WITHDRAWLS
The Board reviewed the following withdrawals: Port Townsend Paper Corporation, BOE 22-37-C, 001
152 006, no action is required.
DETERMINATIONS
Per Open Public Meetings Act, as Outlined in RCW 42.30.140(2)the Board of Equalization met in
CLOSED SESSION. The Board began CLOSED SESSION deliberations at 10:03 a.m. At the conclusion
of the deliberations the Board resumed the regular meeting at 11:00 a.m. and the following actions were
taken.

The Board of Equalization held a hearing on May 11, 2023.
After thoughtful consideration the Board finds that the Appellant did present the clear,cogent, and
convincing evidence necessary to overcome the presumptive correctness of the full value originally
established by the Assessor.
Chairman Gillette moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of$626,433 ($493,328 for the land and
$133,105 for the improvements). Vice-Chair Taylor seconded the motion, Member Raab opposed. (See

The Board of Equalization held a hearing on May 11, 2023.

Chairman Gillette moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of$310,351 ($310,351 for the land and $0
for the improvements). Member Raab carried by a unanimous vote. (See also minutes of May 11, 2023)
Chair Gillette adjourned the meeting at 11:03 a.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as
properly noticed.
