Hello to you all and I just wanted to add 'another
letter of opposition' to 'The Pool'. My husband and I
lived in PT for some time, but now live in Quilcene.
I know that PT is a nice town...it needs help
here and there as all towns do, but....BUT...building
a Big Very Fancy 'State of the Art Swimming Pool'
is a joke! A slap in the face to us all!!
I will for one, will not use the pool, and no one in my
family nor any of my friends will use it either. I do not
believe we should be required to pay for such a thing
just because you deem it 'necessary'!
If you guys want a 'town pool' then fine, make a nice
simple swimming pool that fits with the ambiance of a
small historical seaport town, and a building that will
fit within the 'Budget of The PT Community' and not all
of Jefferson County!! I don't know if you are desiring
bringing the Olympics to PT, but a small simple swimming
pool would suffice instead if you really believe there are
that many swimmers that need a new building.
Maybe do a 'Go Fund Me' for it, or a 'Swim Sercles'
fund raiser for it. Once the money is raised, then
build it. But PLEASE Do Not Tax us poor people
for such a thing as this!
I am wondering what constituted the commissioning
of an architect and rubber stamping the final 'Very Very
Expensive' drawings and details of an 'out of place'
horrible looking monstrous of a building!! Were there
other drawings and drafts of simpler less expensive
ones to choose from? Who is paying for the architect?
I think...a community 'Pea Patch Garden', constructed
on the now designated pool site, would help
'the community' much more that a stupid swimming pool!
