The WWRC board approved the proposed changes, which will be implemented immediately. These changes will affect grant programs in the next application rounds – some even as soon as this Spring! The programs affected include WWRP Local Parks, Water Access, and Trails. Changes also affect the Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account (ALEA), the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), and the Youth Athletic Facilities (YAF) grant programs. If you’re working on a grant application for any of these programs for 2024, we strongly recommend you reach out to your grant manager <https://wildliferecreation.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0f4ebc0827fada7e62b54ea21&id=b7117dcc96&e=8c3506b728> immediately! One of Morgan's children has a disability, and two are able-bodied. The playgrounds near her home were impossible to navigate with a mobility device. They didn’t offer any kind of safe or fun play for children with disabilities. But now, thanks to the vision of her local community, a lot of hard work, and a grant from the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program, that has changed. Now, eastern Jefferson County has a playground that can accommodate all children. Morgan's kids are able to play, explore and challenge themselves—TOGETHER. This is just one of the hundreds of projects made possible through the Coalition and the WWRP.
