The Port Townsend Main Street Program thanks you for another wonderful and magical year, and what a busy year it has been! <https://mcusercontent.com/72d728eac0a891fc7cdd75517/_compresseds/32caae51-43e4-910a-50d6-3ab155d3562e.jpg> THE HOLIDAYS * We decorated over 100 street trees with white lights downtown & uptown—thanks to the City of Port Townsend LTAC. * We are doing a crowd-funding campaign through Giving Tuesday to buy more lights and decorations for the holidays. CLICK HERE <https://ptmainstreet.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=72d728eac0a891f c7cdd75517&id=0eb9952a8f&e=19a6aabdc6> to donate! * We brought Santa and carolers to town and offered free holiday events under the heated tent at Tyler Plaza while promoting local merchants. We are worked with other local non-profits to offer events under the tent for Saturdays in December. <https://mcusercontent.com/72d728eac0a891fc7cdd75517/images/45eafcc5-bfa3-3ccd-9f7f-046008b98b74.jpg> Grants & Fundraising * We applied for and received a City Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) grant for $5,000 to assist with marketing, events and decorations for the holidays to promote the historic districts. * We applied for and were awarded a $25,000 ArtsWA Creative District infrastructure grant to install overhead lighting at Tyler Plaza last year to increase its use throughout the year. We matched these funds with $19,000 in cash from the Port Townsend Main Street Program, cash donations from private sources and in-kind donations from the City of Port Townsend for a total value of $50,000. The additional lighting at Tyler Plaza has increased the usability of this space year-round. * We applied for and received multi-year LTAC funding to support three Creative District Projects: the creation of an Arts and Culture Plan with a 3-5 year outlook for Port Townsend, an online Artists’ Directory (a comprehensive listing of artists, and resources) and support for Soundcheck, Port Townsend’s newest arts festival, which benefits the Creative District. <https://mcusercontent.com/72d728eac0a891fc7cdd75517/_compresseds/f1d58f2e-7c81-9613-dd3d-f89a6bfa6613.jpg> WE ARE COMMITTED TO: * Year-round maintenance of the rain gardens and streetscape, the expanded Adams Street Park, and the portable toilets at Tyler Street end. This includes our Earth Day Spring Clean Up activities each April. * Managing the HUD Low Interest Loan Program and the LENT Microloan funds * Coordinating Creative District efforts and seeking sustainable funding for its development. ENGAGING EVENTS * We hosted the WA State ArtsWA Creative District Conference in June, bringing guests from across the state to learn about Creative Districts. * We coordinated large community events such as the Uptown Street Fair, the Downtown Trick or Treat, and Tree lighting/Santa visit.
