As a representative of Taylor Shellfish, I attended the last BOCC meeting on December 11th. Taylor has a long history of managing successful aquaculture operations in Jefferson County
providing economic benefits and jobs, has been a significant partner in land swaps with WA DNR and other partners to maintain open space and protect habitats, and has been a vocal proponent
for water quality.
I wanted to extend the offer to talk over the phone or meet if any of the Commissioners were interested, to discuss the many authorities (Federal, State and local) reviewing and applying
conditions on aquaculture permitting as it stands now. There seemed to be lingering questions, and I have extensive experience in applying for permits as well as managing compliance
and monitoring.
I would be very willing to answer any questions you may have, provide examples or reference documents to help as you continue to consider the Jefferson County SMP. Please feel free to
