Jefferson County Veterans Advisory Board

Thank you for the opportunity to provide public comment to the Veterans Advisory Board
(VAB).
To my knowledge, the VAB has a public meeting once per year. I would like to suggest that the Board consider increasing the frequency of these meetings to, perhaps, three per year. More
frequent meetings would enhance communication between the VAB, those who serve veterans in Jefferson County and veterans themselves. Enhanced communication would offer the County and
the Board an opportunity to be informed of current events, veteran needs, and issues that come up throughout the year that are relevant to our veteran community. More frequent meetings
can increase the visibility of the VAB, increase awareness and support of veterans in our community, and may increase overall participation in the VAB. Mutually beneficial partnerships
with agencies who serve veterans may result from an increase in participation.
