hey so this is with regard to jeffrson county fairgrounds. u guys are running that in a real unprofessional way. it would be cool and not a big deal if the cops were not out there harassing
people at 1am and making up rules. that dont exist. and are not posted anywhere. and claiming "there is a phone number on the board" that is not there. we requesting money for our inconvenience
and harassment we had to endure. idk what is a fair amount. lets say 330.00 dollars.
the back area had a rope across part of it with a few signs that said area closed. but on the sign up board that was the area for "tents" aka the other areas were designated "hookups"
the signage board said they wanted more money like 38 dollars for "hook up spots" and 17 for tent spots . yet also on the sign up board it says 19 dollars for tent spots. so there is
inconsistent false advertising going on with the sign up board . aka is it 17 dollars or 19 dollars?
we went to a tent spot after attempting to make contact with someone in numerou of the trailers there. last night. the people in the trialers. including cam phost were unresponsive.
and did not come to the door. this was around maybe 8pm give or take an hour .
put up tent. no one came to talk to us. even did a little workout. waiting to see if someone would come by. had a 20, a ten and some ones. didnt want to pay 19 or 17 tho if itw as the
wrong amount. or set up a tent in a hook up spot. and get told in the middle of hte night i had to move to a tent spot. or that i had to pay 38 dollars cuz it was a hookup spot not
a tent spot.
the cop claimed at first that i had to move from that area becaue it was closed. no where on the sign up board did it say that area was closed. i attached photos of the sign up board.
i explained to the cop. who i believe was chase stanton. that no one came to the trailer door campground host trailer. when i tried to check in. an figure out if it was ok to put a
tent in a hook up spot. and if it waas 17 or 19 for said spot.
tehre was one tent. without a car. in a hook up spot. we went back to the campground this morning at 8am and spoke to the host. he claimed that person hadnt paid in 3 days.
the cops last night didnt say anything to that person. who hadnt paid in three days. but decided to make a big deal and harass us for putin a tent up in the area designated for tents.
the cops claimed that their was a phonenumber to call on the sign in board. this is false. see the photos. they also claimed that u could tent in the hookup spot and pay. a tent fee.
this is false as well by my understanding and by the signage on the sign in board. it clearly says the hookup prices are higher and the tent spots are in theback.
why the cops for the city, are attempting to make up rules etc for a different entity campground, with a host and manager. ie the county. ie employees of their own. in the middle of
hte nighta t 1am is not really clear.
but it ammounted to harrasment.
also on the sign in board it says pay. but it doesnt say u have to pay upon arrival. it also says "display receipt" yet there are blank envelopes with no receipts offered for a customer
to display.
we were passin thru. havent been thru pt townsend in years. and really were taken aback by how unreasonable and crazy the pd seemed last night.
the other officer who came was patrick fudally. he was unprofessional, threatneing and menacing and without any logic decided that we were"trespassing if we ddint pay"
well what did u want me to pay? 17 or 19? dollars for a tent spot? and was it ok to tent in a hook up spot? like they claimed? they dont work for the campground. the message board at
sign up for patrons says its not ok. ie u have to tent in a tent spot. and hook up spots cost more. that same message boardhas two different prices listed for tents . 17 and 19. which
one was it? why is your campground host not available to handle these issues and answer these questions? at a reasonable check in time of around 730-8pm when we went to his trailer?
or why did they not come out and make contact iwth us. they could have confirmed the right place to tent, and the right amount. and could havegiven us change etc etc etc
this entire experience was not jsut unprofessional. its false adveritsing, and harrassment. we are owed funds for this. and u need to correct ur signage and have an available host. if
u want us to display a receipt than a reciept must be offered. if u want us to pay upon arrival than that should be reflected in the signage . if u want a tent to be 17 than it should
be consistently marked as 17, or if u want a tent to pay 19 for a night stay. than it shoudl be consistenly marked as 19.
if u want no tents in the tent area. than u need to clearly indicate its ok to tent in a hook up spot and still pay the tent price. so as to not decieve and confuse the clients u attract
to ur location with false and inconsistent messaging and adveritsing. and than make them pay 38, or wake them u pin middle of night and say they got ot move to a tent spot.
hope this all seems resaonsable. 330.00 dollars is what we are requesting jointly form the city and county with regard to this terrible experience. its common sense this should not be
run the way it is being run.
if everything is chill and laid back and we could just pay int he morning and not want to wake up and hammer on the host trailer door and go over there three times that would be one
thing. but the cops coming by and waking us up and making up rules and lying about what is on the signs etc for campgorund check in...
thats Bullshit. wedont need to tolerate that. also the campround host this morning said he didnt call the cops. it was someone else.
have no idea if u got tons of problems with other people here but im not one of them as havent been here in years.
and its not my task to have to write this letter or put up with yoru messed up lack of management and campground host and inconsistent signage. and no where does it say a person has
to pay upon arrival.
so that is not a rule that any cop should be taking it upon themselves to randomly enforce at 1am.
and i say randomly
because this morning the host said the other tent. without a car. that looked lika. homeless person tent in the hookup area. hadnt paid for 3 days. so the cops said nothing to that tenter
las tnight. but had a nervrous break down and decided to harrass me because i was in the actual correct area designated for tents.
complete unamericn bullshit. and i dont need to put up with it. if u want ot go to court i will request more than 330.00 dollar.s
