State of Washington Tourism Commerce Destination Development Grants
State of Washington Tourism will administer $3.5 million in EDA grants for tourism recovery in conjunction with the Washington State Department of Tourism.
As part of the arts and culture sector of the program, festivals and events will be eligible to apply for these grants. The funds will be intended for the promotion and management of
art shows, concerts, festivals and events, museums, historic sites and cultural institutions that drive overnight stays and visitor spending in destination communities.
Applications for arts and culture will open March 15, and a webinar will be held on Feb. 28.

Washington State Department of Commerce - Equitable Access to Credit Program
The Equitable Access to Credit Program offers businesses and individuals with state business and occupation tax (B&O) liabilities a unique opportunity to contribute and receive tax credits.
By making cash contributions equivalent to their B&O tax liability, participants can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit from the Department of Revenue (DOR). Businesses can contribute

When Geraghty decided to grow his marine repair business, he knew he’d need some help. Having been through both the traditional boat building and the marine systems programs at the Northwest
School of Wooden Boatbuilding, he was comfortable with the craft part of the business, but less so with the business part of the business.
After taking a business class through the Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship and then securing funding through the Local Investment Opportunities Network, he turned to Economic Development
Council Team Jefferson Business Services Director Douglas Hammel.
“Douglas helped me with everything from developing an updated estimating system to basic accounting,” Geraghty noted. “I was operating my repair business out of the back of my truck,
and now I have a shop with a roof and room to work indoors.” Geraghty’s business,opened in Boat Haven the weekend of the Wooden Boat Festival in early September.
