Hi Ms Dean - my name is Richard Welty, I live in Port Townsend. I’m wanting to share my thoughts about the article I read in the PT Leader in regard to Indian Island. I was quite surprised
to read the information about the Indian Island Naval facility. My first thought was - how irresponsible I felt this information being made public! Second - I wondered if you thought
of the consequences, given the current situation in the Middle East. I moved here from Chattanooga TN recently and a couple years ago an Islamic terrorist killed a couple military personal
there at a small military installation before being killed by other security forces. My point is this: I feel your revealing the information about Indian Island and cruise missiles
for Israel being staged there was very irresponsible! That doesn’t need to be common knowledge, in my opinion. Why? First of all it puts the navy personnel there in danger of a situation
such as Chattanooga. Second - I think it could very easily make Jefferson county and certainly Port Townsend, where I live, a target for terrorism. Why did that info need to be made
public? What value is it in any positive way for our community. I regret you felt for some reason the need to expose that knowledge, obviously not considering the consequences and I
hope I’m wrong about the end product! Thank you and my thought as a constituent is: think before you speak in these regards.
