Dr. Dubard-Gault found that while the frequency of genetic testing in high-risk patients has increased over time for ovarian and breast cancer, there are still gaps for other cancers. Her findings highlight the need for better patient and provider education, more genetic counseling, and better insurance coverage for testing among high-risk patients. “I believe that the information we gain from genetic testing should lay the foundation for the care we provide you and your family,” shares Dr. Dubard-Gault.
