This month marks the beginning of the Washington State Legislative Session, a pivotal time when elected officials debate and vote on the laws that will shape the future of our state.
As we dive into this legislative season, we're excited to update you on the initiatives and advocacy efforts we’re fighting for to champion immigrant rights, and invite you to join us
in speaking out for the policies that matter to our communities. Here are the ways you can take action this week:

This session we have re-introduced our bill from last year — HB 1095 in the State House, and SB 5109 in the State Senate — which would allow all of Washington’s undocumented workers
to apply for unemployment insurance without affecting immigration status. But our efforts are in danger: Next week is the last chance for hearings and legislators are running out of
time. Lawmakers are refusing to meet this moment, but we’re determined to push them to act in support of Washington’s workers.
We have to act now to ensure this bill is heard. Lawmakers are deciding on the futures of our communities, and to ensure we get this bill a hearing, we need everyone to join this fight.
We just launched a campaign to send letters to lawmakers, calling on them to guarantee protections for all of the workers in Washington — will you join us?
