HomeMy WebLinkAbout012324 WSF Spring Reservation ReleaseALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them.
Good afternoon,
As local/county elected officials for Anacortes/San Juan Islands and Port Townsend/Coupeville route communities, I’m sharing an update on our next seasonal release of vehicle reservations
so you can share the information with your constituents or respond to questions. We are also sharing this information in rider alerts and through other communications channels.
To ensure a smoother rollout, Washington State Ferries is delaying our scheduled January 24 spring sailing season (March 24-June 15) reservation release back three weeks to February
14. On that date, we’ll release the San Juan Islands’ two-week and two-day reservations at 7am and then, at 10am, reservations for spring.
Additionally, for the Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes, due to continuing crewing availability constraints, we will continue reducing reservable space from 90% to 75%, leaving 25% for
standby. The added standby space helps ensure reservation holders make sailings during service disruptions. In keeping with tradition, of that 75%, 25% will be released on February
14, 25% two weeks before each specific sailing, and 25% two days before. Because of the reduced reservation space, standby space is available on many sailings and customers can often
travel without a reservation. Everyone is encouraged to check terminal conditions and cameras <https://wsdot.com/ferries/vesselwatch/terminals.aspx> before heading to the terminal.
For our Port Townsend/Coupeville route, all reservations (80% of available space) will be released at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Hadley
