RE: Board Appointments to Growth Management Steering Committee
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On January 22, 2024, the Board approved Resolution 09-24, reconvening the Growth
Management Steering Committee (GMSC) to—among other objectives—recommend adoption of
Countywide Planning Policies (CPPs) and allocate population as projected by the Office of
Financial Management (OFM). The Resolution outlines composition of the GMSC, and two
positions require Board appointment: one to represent the Port Hadlock Urban Growth Area
(UGA) and another to represent the Brinnon Rural Village Center(RVC), a Limited Area of
More Intensive Rural Development(LAMIRD).
The District 2 Commissioner, Heidi Eisenhour, proposes Scott Mauk to represent the Port
Hadlock UGA, and the District 3 Commissioner, Greg Brotherton, proposes Andrew Schwartz to
represented the Brinnon RVC.
ANALYSIS:
Staff is planning a series of GMSC meetings as part of the 2025 Periodic Update required by the
Growth Management Act (GMA). Board concurrence is sought for the appointments described.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Act to appoint the two persons listed above (or other persons, as desired) to the GMSC.
