HomeMy WebLinkAboutADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS AND REAPPOINTMENTS Consent Agenda Commissioners Office JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST TO: Board of County Commissioners Mark McCauley, County Administrator FROM: Wendy Housekeeper, Executive Secretary I DATE: February 5, 2024 SUBJECT: ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS (3) and REAPPOINTMENTS (2) re: Climate Action Committee STATEMENT OF ISSUE: On November 30, 2023, twelve applications were received for the Joint City and County Climate Action Committee. The committee consists of fifteen members and seven of the fifteen members are "at-large" positions serving staggered three-year terms. Currently, five of the at-large positions are vacant including three expired positions and two positions open due to resignations. Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) staff and City staff advertised the vacancies during the month of November, 2023. Twelve applications were received, including two members seeking reappointment. ANALYSIS: The Chair of the BOCC, Kate Dean, and the City of Port Townsend Mayor, David Faber, in consultation with the County Administrator and City Manager, have reviewed the letters of interest and the recommendation forwarded by the CAC review group. Chair Dean and Mayor Faber recommend the following individuals to serve on the CAC: 1. Reappointment of Cindy Jayne - Position 9, Term expires December 31, 2026 2. Reappointment of Kate Chadwick—Position 14, Term expires December 31, 2026 3. Appointment of Crystie Kisler—Position 10, Term expires December 31, 2025 4. Appointment of Jamie Duyck—Position 12, Term expires December 31, 2024 5. Appointment of Krista Myers—Position 13, Term expires December 31, 2024 RECOMMENDATION Approve the Jefferson County and City of Port Townsend staff recommendations of appointment and reappointment for the Climate Action Committee vacancies. Appointment and reappointments are final once both the City of Port Townsend and Jefferson County Commissioners have approved the applicants. REVIE D BY: l 50/02 Mark McCaule County Administrator Date
