Commissioners et al.
I thought I would share one of many recent emails from our community. I am scheduling presentations in the spring with various community groups throughout our Fire District to discuss
preparedness measures and review the CWPP. Since last fall, I have met with groups in the City of PT, Kala Point, Port Ludlow, etc.
Today I scheduled two more groups for April.
Thank you for the collaboration,

I thought it would be a good time to follow-up with you regarding our April Port Ludlow wildfire preparedness program. As mentioned late last year, this educational event is scheduled
for 4/17 from 1:00-3:00p. Allen Israel (copied on this email) and I are Co-Chairs of the Emergency Preparedness Committee for the LMC North Bay community. With time on our side, we’d
like to connect with you in the near term to discuss and get your input as we develop the scope and content of the program. Wondering if you could meet with us in person or via Zoom
between now and 2/1? We anticipate a 30 minute meeting. Our schedules are fairly flexible so simply let us know what day/time works for you. If you’d prefer to meet in person, we’d
be happy to meet at the PL fire department building.
Note: Food for thought. When we meet to discuss the program, we’d like to get your perspective on:
* What residents should know about wildfire risk and how to address/mitigate that risk (i.e. personal, county and regional preparation and evacuation, home ignition zone-immediate, intermediate
extended, etc.).
* With you as our main event speaker we want to be sure to include other speakers who would be a complement to the program. Who else/other agency or organization would you recommend?
* We’d like to include an update regarding the CWPP. Would you be covering this or should we engage with the county, CWPP consultant, etc. and have them speak to this effort and published
plan?
* We’ve had some discussion with Undersheriff, Andy Pernsteiner, and having him also speak on the Evacuation Traffic Management Plan in the event of a wildfire. Your thoughts?
Thank you,
