HomeMy WebLinkAbout021524 email - Re_ Jefferson County_Port Townsend Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation PlanHello Joan,
You can find a copy of all of our emergency plans on our website in the library section at the following link: https://www.co.jefferson.wa.us/1177/Library---CEMP <https://www.co.jefferson.wa.us/1177/
Library---CEMP>
The Hazard Mitigation Plan focuses primarily on activities that prevent the fire before it starts; the plan you would be looking for is our Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan which
focuses on response to the disaster. That plan there in the library.
I would recommend specifically around wildfire, you reference the Community Wildfire Protection Plan which is currently being written. You will be able to find it at the following web
page once it is done:https://jefferson-county-cwpp-jeffcowa.hub.arcgis.com/
Finally, East Jeff Fire and Rescue is planning a series of presentations this summer on wildfire preparedness, in partnership with NPREP, our community preparedness organization. Find
out if you live in an organized NPREP neighborhood at the following link:https://l2020.org/category/emergency-preparedness/
if not consider starting an organized neighborhood or be on the lookout for information from EJFR about their presentation schedule.

ALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them.
I have tried every which way I could on your website to find the current Jefferson County/Port Townsend Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan that is on the agenda tomorrow 2/15.
I was unable to find a link that would take me to a copy of the proposed plan being discussed. Could you please send me a link to the actual proposed plan and any contributing documents?
I am particularly interested in the plans for evacuations for small communities [mostly along Jefferson Co shorelines] that have a single road access that present possible exit blockages
in case of Maui type wildfire. Specifically, what are the plans for rescue people off of beaches and which organizations are part of the rescue planning [US Navy, marine based social
orgs, etc.]?
What are the plans for meeting, explaining and roll playing potential evacuations with the people living in these isolated communities?
As a resident of Towne Point, an interior PT community of about 200 homes with only one exit onto a public street [Discovery Road], I want to know what is our plan should a tree or an
accident block the exit in the case of a wildfire?
