We’ll have to disagree about your “historically” statement – I have attended many similar Chamber luncheons over the years, both in-person and online, without paying any fee. Nor would
I ever.
For the subject meeting, I would like to register to attend as a non-member – using the link provided on the announcement, as you’ve requesting – but your website still requires a $15
admission fee.
Please let me know once that’s been updated.

Hi Tom.
Historically there has been a charge for Chamber Luncheons in order to cover the cost of the venue. It is not the intention of the Chamber to ruffle feathers here. As this luncheon is
aligned with County and City officials, we will wave all member and non-member registration fees. This meeting will be open to the public, but we ask that you please RSVP on the Chamber
website or on the link provided on the announcement. you can also pre-order lunch- the cost is $22.00. If you would like to discuss further, please give me a call.

The Chamber of Commerce of Jefferson County is charging a $15 admission fee to hear Commissioner Brotherton explain Jefferson County’s actions, views, policies, etc. on the subject:
“State of Housing in Jefferson County and sharing perspectives on housing-related opportunities, challenges, and solutions in our community”
Prior meetings of the Chamber have been open to the public when an elected official has spoken to represent the county government. This change in policy is more than disappointing.
Just because it’s not illegal doesn’t make it right!
Commissioner Brotherton, in the interest of Open Government, I urge you to refuse to participate in the Chamber Luncheon on February 28 unless the demand for the admission fee is dropped.
