Hi County Commissioner Dean,
We only have one more day to pass the ReWRAP Act out of the Washington State house. Even if you have already reached out to your representatives please take the time to ask them again
to pass the ReWRAP Act (HB 2049) to reduce waste and improve recycling outcomes in Washington.
Thank you for your continuous support!
Best,
Gracia

Some Exciting Updates:
* The ReWRAP Act (HB 2049) advanced out of the House Appropriations committee last Saturday and will need to be voted off the House Floor by next Tuesday, 2/13 in order to continue
advancing this session.
* This week, our team held a phone bank with University of Washington students calling Washington residents and asking them to contact their legislators in support of HB 2049. Washingtonians
overwhelmingly support stronger recycling and we’re heartened by the responses we received yesterday!
With the ReWRAP Act going to the House Floor this week, it is important that we continue to show legislators that cities and counties are in strong support of establishing packaging
producer responsibility to improve recycling access and outcomes across the state. Please take a few minutes to make a comment <https://publicinterestnetwork-dot-yamm-track.appspot.com/2YF7_NDzsRrs

Here is a sample comment as a starting point (feel free to tailor!):
The ReWRAP Act, which establishes producer responsibility for packaging, is a much needed comprehensive solution to reduce waste and improve recycling in Washington. [Insert statements/stories
about the problem, and why it’s important to you/your community]. Every study conducted by the state in recent years about packaging management and recycling improvement has pointed
to producer responsibility as the solution for modernizing our recycling systems. Please advance HB 2049. Thank you.
Thank you again for being part of this strong and growing coalition of nearly 115 city council members and county commissioners who are supporting this effort.
Please reach out to myself (ganderson@environmentwashington.org <mailto:ganderson@environmentwashington.org> ) or Pam Clough (pclough@environmentwashington.org <mailto:pclough@environmentwashington.
org> ) if you have any questions. Let us know when you submit your comment!
Best,
Gracia Anderson
