STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
An opportunity to discuss the Department of Emergency Management's 2024 workplan.
ANALYSIS:
The Department of Emergency Management is responsible for supporting disaster preparedness, response,
and recovery activities in Jefferson County. This includes but is note limited to conducting outreach and
education on topics around disaster resilience, training and engaging volunteers in a number of different
programs, conducting planning and exercising disaster plans, and being prepared to respond to emergencies
by maintaining readiness of the Emergency Operations Center and an on-call Duty Officer.
RECOMMENDATION:
A review of the Department of Emergency Management's 2024 workplan at the February 20`h BOCC
meeting.
