Hi All, Local 2020/TLab is planning another conference this April. Last year‘s conference was quite the success given that we kept nearly 100 people there all day. Also, reviews from community members, staff, and electeds were very positive. This year Mike McGinn, former Seattle mayor and CEO of America Walks, will be returning to talk about how transportation affects every aspect of our lives. Anna Zivarts, a visually impaired bicyclist and the program director for Disability Mobility Initiative, will also present. She will discuss how to improve transportation for people who either cannot or choose not to drive. We are hoping to have two other speakers, Dr Jenny Liu, environmental and transportation economist and professor at Portland State. We are also working with Arielle Sullivan who consults on successful public engagement for large organizations. We were really grateful for the county’s sponsorship last year, that, along with the support that we received from the city, the port, and the hospital made our conference possible. We would very much appreciate the county supporting us again this year. Last year we asked at a commissioners meeting where you were deciding about the ARPA funds. We are reaching out to find out how best to make this year's request. Should we ask at a commissioners meeting? Contact staff first? What are your thoughts? Thank You, Becci
