JCIRA Women's Justice Circle's Anti-Bullying Campaign Presentation to the Port Townsend School Board On behalf of JCIRA and our new Women's Justice Circle, I would like to invite you to attend a presentation we will be giving to the Port Townsend School Board on Thursday, March 7th at 5:30 pm. Our presentation will help highlight the work the School District is doing towards more accessible and equal schools. We will also be sharing the experiences of immigrant families in our school community and present a bilingual anti-bullying campaign idea. JCIRA would like to ask you take time this week to support two important efforts. <https://jcira.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e6a5ce9c533fce19d6336ca83&id=7fb3d5d83d&e=e9fe4694e3> WAISN has advocated for a budget proviso to provide support for the estimated 14,000 migrants that have arrived in Washington as asylum seekers in 2023. Last year we worked with lawmakers to secure a budget that expanded access to medical care for tens of thousands of immigrants across the state with more than $100M in insurance subsidies and $49.5M to launch a medicaid equivalent program for our most vulnerable community members. Further expansion through increased funding is crucial to ensuring that every Washingtonian has access to healthcare services, but these programs are in danger of not getting this necessary funding. Too many people in Washington state today go without critical health care because they are structurally excluded from affordable health coverage. We need your help to make sure Washington lawmakers prioritize health equity for immigrant communities in their final budget.
