Friday, April 19th. 9 am-4 pm. American Legion, Port Townsend WA Transportation influences every aspect of our lives. Decisions we make as individuals and local governments affect human and environmental health, housing costs and availability, economic vitality, equity and recreation._Many of our most daunting problems can be improved by changing how we move people around. The conference will • Explore transportation's many effects on building a healthy community. • Explore data-based policies that make it easier for people to walk, bike, and use transit to create the safe, accessible, equitable, climate smart, adequately-housed, economically resilient, community envisioned in our comprehensive plans. The day's agenda includes expert presentations with inclusive workshop sessions. The result will be tools to create the community envisioned in our comprehensive plans. Our presenters are: Mike McGinn, Executive Director of America Walks Anna Zivarts, Director of the Disability Mobility Initiative (DMI) at Disability Rights Washington. And possibly presenting could be: Unknown at this point Arielle Sullivan, Principal Consultant of Conscious Transformation Agents, an Affiliate Consultant with Designed Learning and serves as the Co-President of the Pacific Northwest Organization Development Network. The Transportation Lab, a Local 20/20 Action Group, is organizing Moving in the Right Direction. We welcome community members, volunteers and sponsors. Kindly contact us for more information. Mike (he/him) got his start in local politics as a neighborhood activist pushing for walkability. From there he founded a non-profit focused on sustainable and equitable growth, and then became mayor of Seattle. He has always worked to add new voices to City decision-making and has gained deep insights into how influence is gained and wielded to make change. Just before joining America Walks, Mike worked to help Feet First, Washington State's walking advocacy organization, expand their sphere of influence across Washington state. He has worked on numerous public education, legislative, ballot measure and election campaigns—which has given him an abiding faith in the power of organizing and volunteers to create change. His many years of advocating for sustainable cities and environmental justice give him perspective to expand America Walks. Anna Zivarts is a low-vision mom and nondriver who was born with the neurological condition nystagmus. Since launching the Disability Mobility Initiative (DMI) at Disability Rights Washington in 2020, Anna has worked to bring the voices of nondrivers to the planning and policy-making tables through organizing, research, and policy campaigns led by nondrivers. She launched #WeekWithoutDriving in 2021 to challenge elected leaders to get around for a week without driving themselves and is writing a book for Island Press about valuing the expertise of nondrivers. Zivarts serves on the board of the League of American Bicyclists and the National Safety Council's Mobility Safety Advisory Group. She received both her master's and undergraduate degrees from Stanford University. xxx Arielle Sullivan is a Conscious Change Agent who is passionate about the co-creation of new systems and structures for a regenerative world. She has led work as an internal and external consultant in the private, public and non-profit sectors focusing on systems change and leadership effectiveness. Her ongoing call to action is to create deep and lasting transformation while building the needed Regenerative Leadership capabilities for the future. Arielle is the Principal Consultant of Conscious Transformation Agents. She is an Affiliate Consultant with Designed Learning and serves as the Co-President of the Pacific Northwest Organization Development Network. Arielle has a B.A. in International Business and a Spanish minor from the University of Iowa and a Masters of Science in Organization Development from Pepperdine University. Lord
