Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's: This project will replace the US HWY101 causeway across the Duckabush Estuary with a bridge, and will also realign a segment of Duckabush Road, and replace a culvert with a bridge on Shore Drive. This project is being jointly funded and managed by the Washington State Dept. of Fish Et Wildlife, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and WSDOT for a total estimated cost of $126 million. Jefferson County will provide coordination on Preliminary Engineering. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: The total estimated cost for Jefferson County coordination on Preliminary Engineering is $6,500, which will come from the County Road Fund. Duckabush Estuary Restoration -Realignment Project x IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that Duckabush Road, County Road No. 227408, and Shore Drive, County Road No. 506709 be improved as follows: The project will replace the US101 causeway across the Duckabush Estuary with a bridge, and will also realign a segment of Duckabush Road, and replace a culvert with a bridge on Shore Drive. This project is being jointly funded and managed by the Washington State Dept. of Fish & Wildlife, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and WSDOT for a total estimated cost of $126 million. Jefferson County will provide coordination on Preliminary Engineering per the table below. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that: The construction is to be accomplished by contract in accordance with R.C.W. 36.77.020 et. seq. The construction is to be accomplished by County forces in accordance with R.C.W. 36.77.065 and W.A.C. 136.18. X WDFW/USACE/WSDOT will design and manage this project and be responsible for contracting and payment.
