solutions to complex challenges facing county government. Through the high-energy, immersive curriculum, participants will learn a new set of leadership skills, widen their leadership
perspectives, and learn how to effectively address the demands of personal leadership in a new era of government.
Up to 30 local elected officials from across the country will be chosen to participate in this opportunity, held in Washington, D.C, on June 10-12, 2024 (Arrive June 9, Depart June 13).
Candidates must be elected county officials from NACo member counties, and preference will be given to those serving at least one term and no more than eight years in office.
WSAC policy provides preference to nominating a WSAC member that meets the following criteria:
1. Have served at least one term and have been reelected to office.
2. Currently an active participant in a leadership capacity within WSAC (Board of Directors, Legislative Steering Committee, Committee Member, NACo Committee Member, serve on Statewide
Board or Commission, etc.).
3. Be willing to continue serving in a leadership position.
4. Report back to the WSAC membership following completion of the program.
WSAC will pay for the $1800 registration fee, which includes lodging and meals at the event. Chosen participants must cover their own flight cost, and any additional lodging or travel
costs outside of the NACo registration fee.
Applications are due by close of business on Friday, March 22, 2024
The WSAC Executive Committee will select and forward nominee(s) to NACo at their March 26th meeting. Applicants will be notified of their nomination status by March 29th. NACo will announce
finalists in May.
