Trying to do a bit of a fact check.
Is it correct to say that candidates for the county council must file between Monday May 6 and Friday May 17, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Candidates seeking to withdraw from
office must do so by Monday, May 20.
That’s being translating from the 2024 Election Guide for Jurisdictions:
Candidates may file for office between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beging the first Monday in May and ending the following Friday with the following Monday being the candidate withdrawal
deadline.
Is that translation accurate?
This is for a brief about Kate Dean’s announcement she will not seek reelection.
