Providing essential fire equipment to the Hoh Indian Tribe will enable the Tribe to establish a fire department that will provide service for West Jefferson County. For much of the West End of Jefferson County, there is simply no fire service available, leading to unacceptable risk for Jefferson County residents as well as members of the Hoh Tribe. We often hear from residents of West Jefferson County who have no access to fire and emergency services. With the proper equipment, the Hoh Indian Tribe will be able to establish a Fire Department that will be able to more quickly and reliably respond to fire and other emergencies in this area of our County. This is an important project for the safety of our community, and we fully support equest for funding. Sincerely, t— j - Kate Dean, Chair, Dist. No. 1 ei • Eisenhour, Dist.
