We saw many items on our priorities list <https://wildliferecreation.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u= 0f4ebc0827fada7e62b54ea21&id=54f5182d59&e=8c3506b728> receive funding, and the legislation also tended to do well. During the short sessions, the Coalition supports partner and agency initiatives, as WWRP funding is only (generally) in play during the budget sessions! RCO is accepting WWRP grant applications until May 1. There have been grant evaluation criteria changes for six recreation and conservation-focused grant programs. These changes will affect this year's applications for the following WWRP Grants: Local Parks, Water Access, and Trails. Changes also affect the Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account (ALEA), the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), and the Youth Athletic Facilities (YAF) grant programs. This is the only opportunity to apply for WWRP grants until 2026. Now, we want your input! Nominate people who inspire you within the outdoors community. * Joan Thomas Award: Created to recognize conservation champions who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the next generation has access to the same beautiful parks, wildlife habitat and working farms that we enjoy today. * Forward Award: Created to recognize young leaders working tirelessly to protect Washington’s natural places. * Evans-Lowery Distinguished Leadership Award: Created to recognize individuals or organizations forging unique collaborations to achieve big things in the outdoors. The City of College Place <https://wildliferecreation. us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0f4ebc0827fada7e62b54ea21&id=9111ee817b&e=8c3506b728> used this grant to develop a splash pad and inclusive playground at Lions Park. The project also includes the development of accessible walkways, a new picnic shelter, new restrooms, lighting, and new park signage.
