Happy April County Commissioners, Dr Allison Berry, and Willie Bence!
Please see the KPTZ listener questions listed below for Monday, April 1, 2024 BOCC Health Update.
I know KPTZ listeners want the updates to continue, but I only received one since the previous update on March 11th.
Perhaps it is the glory of Spring in people’s minds instead of questions about Covid.
I will generate some questions of my own to add to the list.
Thank you,
Lynn Sorensen

Questions for Dr Allison Berry:
1. I'm over 65y/o. If I'm exposed to Covid and test positive after 3 days but remain asymptomatic, is Paxlovid not indicated?
If another 2-3 days go by and I become symptomatic (so 5-6 days after testing positive) does the 5-day window for Paxlovid start now (with my symptoms) or is it already too late?
2. I recently went on vacation in Florida, flying Seattle to Charlotte, NC, then to Key West and the reverse on my return.
Masks were not in use for the most part in any of the three airports. But I did wear mine.
There were staff in the airport and onboard the plane and a few passengers that did wear a mask.
What I found important is that people individually made a decision to wear a mask but without attracting the politics (from anti-maskers) we saw through so much of the pandemic.
3. Do all state departments of health keep a running tally of documented cases of Covid across the nation? I know funding was pulled by the Feds but do states still track the number
of cases, subsequent hospitalizations and deaths?
Do states differ in their capturing of data and keeping statistics regarding present day Covid cases?
