Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: Critter Lane functions more as a driveway than a county road. It should be maintained with funds other than from the County Road Fund. The Central Services Director and the Public Works Director/County Engineer have discussed this and agree that this is a preferred arrangement. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: Funds other than the County Road Fund will be responsible for maintenance of this road from this point forward. Recommendation: Please sign the attached Resolution removing Critter Lane from the County's Road Log. Critter Lane, County Road No. 625709 x WHEREAS, Critter Lane (County Road No. 625709) was constructed as part of the Animal Shelter project in 1994, and WHEREAS, Critter Lane was established as a county road on December 5, 1994 by Resolution of the Board of Commissioners #115-94, and WHEREAS, Critter Lane is listed on the Official County Road Log as being a gravel roadway 0.16 miles in length, and WHEREAS, Critter Lane is often closed and gated when the Animal Shelter is not open to the public and more closely resembles a driveway than a county road, and WHEREAS, Critter Lane is a dead-end road serving only the Animal Shelter and, in the future, will not serve to access any other properties or facilities, and WHEREAS,the Central Services Director and Public Works Director/County Engineer have agreed that it is more appropriate for this driveway to be maintained by Central Services as part of the Animal Shelter rather than as a county road. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Critter Lane shall be removed from the Official County Road Log and that future maintenance of this driveway shall be with funds from sources other than the County's Road Fund.
