HOUSING FUND BOARD
Regular Meeting — Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.
Commissioners' Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse
1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 (Hybrid)
CALL TO ORDER: Jefferson County Commissioner Greg Brotherton called the Joint Jefferson
County/City of Port Townsend Housing Fund Board(HFB)to order. The following HFB members
participated in the meeting in person and remotely: Jefferson County Commissioner Kate Dean, Vice
Chair/City of Port Townsend Deputy Mayor Amy Howard City of Port Townsend Councilmember
Aislinn Palmer, Members Peggy Webster, Julia Cochrane and Viki Sonntag.
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Chair Brotherton opened the floor for public comments, and one
comment was received.
DISCUSSION re: Homeless and Affordable Housing Funds Change to Revenue and Utilization:
Jefferson County Auditor Brenda Huntingford briefed the Board on recording fees and the breakdown of
how funds are disbursed.
CONTINUED DISCUSSION: RFP and Application Review: The Board reviewed and made edits to
the RFP and application. After discussion, Commissioner Dean moved to approve the RFP and
application as amended today with scriveners' errors to be corrected before August 31, 2023. Member
Cochrane seconded the motion.
Chair Brotherton opened the floor to allow for public comment on the motion. Hearing no comments, he
called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.
DISCUSSION re: Committee Updates: Not discussed.
NEXT STEPS/CLOSING REMARKS: HFB members stated they would like to discuss the following
at a future meeting:
• Adding Annual Priorities for next year's RFP
• Adding a checklist to the RFP
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: After closing remarks provided by the Board, Chair Brotherton
adjourn the meeting at 4:35 p.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
