WHEREAS,Washington's State's counties and WSAC and its staff have benefitted
enormously from Eric's generous service and guidance; and
WHEREAS,Eric Brian Johnson chose to focus his super skills on serving the needs of
the Counties of the State of Washington, first running for and winning two terms as a Lewis
County Commissioner. His platform included a promise to provide free burn barrels every year
to every resident; and
WHEREAS, Eric Brian Johnson, after his resounding political success, then turned his
leadership skills toward working for the Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) for
nearly 19 years, 16 years as Executive Director, and
WHEREAS, Eric Brian Johnson has chosen to step down as WSAC Executive Director,
effective May 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS,every County in Washington State will be forever grateful to Eric for his
steady and unwavering leadership to counties during good times and challenging times, for his
fierce advocacy and support for county government issues, and for his wise and thoughtful
counsel to several generations of County Commissioners, Councilmembers, Councilors, and
numerous other county leaders; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Jefferson County Board
of County Commissioners request that the citizens of Jefferson County join them in celebrating
and honoring the service of Eric Brian Johnson and Proclaim May 31, 2024, as "Washington
State Association of Counties Executive Director Eric Brian Johnson Day" in Jefferson County.

SUBJECT: PROCLAMATION re: Proclaiming May 31, 2024 as Washington State Association
of Counties Executive Director Eric Brian Johnson Day
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Eric Brian Johnson has chosen to step down as WSAC Executive Director, effective May 31, 2024.
Eric has worked for the Washington State Association of Counties(WSAC) for nearly 19 years, 16
years as Executive Director. Eric has been a steady and unwavering leader to counties during good
times and challenging times, for his fierce advocacy and support for county government issues, and for
his wise and thoughtful counsel to several generations of County Commissioners, Councilmembers,
Councilors, and numerous other county leaders.
The Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners request that the citizens of Jefferson County
join them in celebrating and honoring the service of Eric Brian Johnson.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to Jefferson County.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Proclamation re: Proclaiming May 31, 2024 as Washington State Association of Counties Executive
Director Eric Brian Johnson Day
