Good afternoon Commissioners,
I am reaching out to introduce myself as the Department of Ecology’s new Southwest Region Director (replacing Rich Doenges who retired last month), and to make myself available to anyone
who would like to connect.
I bring more than two decades of experience in land use, environmental planning, natural resources management, environmental policy and conservation. While this role for me is new, the
work we do is not. In fact, some of my most rewarding professional experiences have come from supporting community efforts in southwest Washington through the last 13 years with the
Shorelands & Environmental Assistance Program at Ecology – working across coastal, floodplain, and shoreline management issues. Partnerships, collaboration, and helping support local
governments in the southwest region is something I deeply believe in.
My goal is to continue building relationships in the region. I’m happy to meet with you or join a forum to hear about pressing issues and opportunities that may involve Ecology, and
how I can best support the protection and restoration of the land, air, and water for current and future generations.
Please let me know what works best for you in the coming months.
Best,
Bobbak Talebi | he, him
