Founding Program Director Larry Stein will kick off this new era as the first live DJ on the air from the new studios, and every DJ after this will be “Live from 305.” Our amazing volunteer technical staff, together with our DJs and hosts, have been working hard to make this a reality as we step into the unknown with new equipment in a new location. If you listen carefully to KPTZ we think you will hear the excitement live on-the-air. This has been a multi-year project and we expect this to be the beginning of a great new chapter for your favorite community radio station. Following up on this major milestone, we will be having our “Live in 305” fund drive, running from Monday May 6th through Saturday May 11th. The new studios will be open to our community from 10am to 5pm each day and all 91.9 FM listeners should feel free to stop by and see us in action. Come by and take a tour! We caught another bus and stopped a the burial place of, Yang Guifei, who was the beloved concubine of Emperor Xuanzong in his later years. “Guifei” was the highest rank of imperial consorts during her time. May 14 Yang Guifei was too much of an incredible distraction to the Emperor and he lost interest in governance. The rebel army stormed the gates, and the emperor and his entourage fled the capital along the same road we’ve been traveling ourselves…. As a single mother, it took her years to get the proper diagnosis for her child. Not all counselors or therapists are trained to recognize the symptoms in a young child. And, as Tracy points out, an early diagnosis can make quite a difference in terms of getting proper schooling and other help. Tracy moved here shortly before the big pandemic lockdown. That timing also contributed to slow connections both for her business and for her child. But now her massage business, Shining Star Massage, is up and running. She’s also showing her art dubbed “Heart N Soul Art” at Art Walk and a number of galleries.
