SUBJECT: Request for Authority to Terminate the Lodging Tax Agreement with
Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On April 11, 2024 Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC)had a meeting to review a request to decline
awarded funds in the amount of$17,400 to Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce and moved to accept it.
The County has an LTAC agreement with Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. The agreement is for
the services provided at the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.
The original contract, in Section 7, allows either party to terminate with at least 30 days-notice. This notice
gives notice that the agreement is terminated effect date June 6, 2024.
ANALYSIS:
The attached letter will officially notify Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce of the termination.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Board authorize the County Administrator to sign the attached notice of termination.

RE: Lodging Tax Agreement(Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce) Termination
The Lodging Tax Agreement Committee (LTAC)met on April 11, 2024 and approved your
request dated March 7, 2024 declining awarded funds. Per LTAC's recommendation the County
is terminating the agreement with Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.
The original agreement, in Section 7, allows either party to terminate the agreement with thirty
(30) days-notice. Therefore, this contract is null and void on June 6, 2024.

Hi Adiel,
The Jefferson County Chamber Board has decided not to accept the awarded funds from County LTAC for the
Waterways map. We do not have the personnel to cover the time management it will require. If there is
another organization that would like to take on the project, I'll forward all pertinent information. If not, I'm
sure there are several organizations that can put those dollars to the best use.
