JEFFERSON COUNTY Ferry Advisory Committee (FAC) Special Meeting Minutes
Wednesday March 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Jefferson County Courthouse – Commissioners’ Chambers 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA (HYBRID)
Members: Chair Tom Thiersch, Bill Mann, Adam Levin, Nicole Gauthier, and Steve King
CALL TO ORDER: Tom Thiersch called the meeting to order at the appointed time. In attendance were Members Levin, Mann, and King. Also in attendance was Coupeville Ferry Advisory Committee Chair Jack Schwab and Washington State Ferries (WSF) Director of Planning and Government Relations John Vezina, and Public Records Administrator Ken Hugonoit.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF FAC CHAIR and INTRODUCTIONS FOR 2024 / ROLL CALL:
Chair Thiersch started the introductions. FAC members introduced themselves and they formally
acknowledged member Thiersch as the Chair for 2024.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Chair Thiersch called for public comments, and one comment was received.
UPDATE FROM WASHINGTON STATE FERRIES STAFF: WSF Director of Planning and Government Relations John Vezina provided an update on the Washington State Ferries which included staffing, budget, and future plans. GENERAL DISCUSSION: Public Records Administrator Ken Hugonoit provided a presentation on
public records and communications. Chair Thiersch discussed the Open Public Meetings Act and
explained why today’s meeting is a special meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Chair Thiersch called for public comments, and no comments were received. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Thiersch adjourned the meeting at 2:17 p.m. until the next regular or a special
meeting as properly noticed.
