County Commissioners, Dr Allison Berry, and Willie Bence, There were no questions from KPTZ listeners forwarded to me for Monday, May 6, 2024 BOCC Update. Listeners were reminded several times this week in KPTZ news and by DJs to send in their questions by noon today for Monday’s update. I have generated some questions of my own, but perhaps it is time to consider a hiatus for the BOCC update? Thank you, Lynn Sorensen KPTZ Virus Watch Team and KPTZ Emergency Response Team Questions for Dr Berry: 1. I know that many data points regarding Covid are no longer being tracked but what is the national picture for hospitalizations and deaths? Are there any patterns with regard to different parts of the country? 2. Is there any promising new research with regard to Long Covid? Any demographic information as to who is most at risk to develop it? Question for Willie Bence: 1. Washington issued a statewide drought emergency on April 16, 2024. What kinds of measures could Jefferson County residents expect to see this summer due to the low snow pack and warmer temperatures? Water rationing?
