HomeMy WebLinkAbout050724 email - EVCS' plan to rip off customersALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. Commissioners, Note that the chargers EVCS plans to install in PT will have fees at least twice as high as those at chargers being installed by Seattle City Light. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/environment/seattle-has-25-new-curbside-chargers-for-evs-with-more-on-its-way/ Drivers will pay 21 cents per kilowatt-hour… Fees will help cover electricity, operations, maintenance and repair costs of the chargers, while offsetting the initial purchase and installation costs, according to City Light. Seriously, what kind of company are you engaging with that plans to rip off your constituents (and visitors)? The county, JPUD, and the other signatories to the Climate Action Plan need to do everything possible to increase the adoption rate of EVs. The PUD has the sole authority to limit the prices charged by anyone that resells electricity within the PUD’s exclusive service area. Please act now, before things get out of control, Commissioners Randall, Collins, Toepper. Thank you, Tom Thiersch Jefferson County, WA
