Subject: Lots 15 and 16 of Ocean Grove No. 2 in Section 24,
Township 30 North, Range 2 West, W.M. , Jefferson
County, Washington
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Pool:
In response to your request, I inspected the proposed building site in the
westerly portion of the above referenced Lot No. 16 on June 17, 1991.
The proposed residence would be located on the "bench area" immediately
below the existing road (Combs Place) . Beyond this area (to the south) the
building site drops sharply an average of about five feet to an old road
grade "cut and fill section" . Based on field observation and existing
topography map, the site then slopes fairly uniformly over 600 feet to the
shoreline of Discovery Bay at an average slope of 30° .
The typical long term stable angle of repose "for granular soil" is
considered to be in the range of 30° to 35°. Based on visual observations
and the topographir information, the building site is considered to be
stsh e. As cut.n, conformance with the Uniform Building Code Section 2907.3
and proper drainage practices to minimize the potential for erosion will
address footing setback and slope stability requirements for the site.
