Seattle Parks & Recreation and the Kubota Garden Foundation used WWRP and LWCF grants to build a brand new accessible bathroom and picnic area at this amazing local park. From local families picnicking in the summer to an annual Taiko festival, Kubota Garden is a green oasis in South Seattle. The addition of accessible bathrooms may not seem as exciting as the park’s 11 ponds, 2 red bridges, and 30 hydrangea varieties… but we beg to differ! The availability of accessible, gender-neutral bathrooms opens up the 20 acres of history to EVERYONE, and we think that’s something to celebrate. So, we hope you’ll come out to our “Garden Potty” to celebrate these bathrooms (and the rest of the Garden) with us! This will be a free family-friendly event with garden tours, snacks, and beverages. We hope you and a friend will join us at Kubota Garden in South Seattle!
