'Ready, Set, Go!' Evacuation Campaign Introduced This Wildfire Awareness Month
Thurston County has introduced "Ready, Set, Go!," evacuation campaign as part of Wildfire Awareness Month. This campaign aims to deliver the evacuation message clearly to the residents
to ensure their safety during emergencies, particularly wildfires.
With wildfires becoming an annual threat, especially in areas west of the Cascades, the campaign aids the community through enhanced wildfire emergency response.

Deadline to Submit NACo Policy Resolutions & Platform Changes Wednesday, June 12
In preparation for the National Association of Counties (NACo) 2024 Annual Conference & Exposition, NACo members are invited to submit policy resolutions and platform changes to be considered
during the conference. The deadline to submit resolutions is Wednesday, June 12.
The NACo resolutions process offers members the opportunity to participate in national policy decisions affecting county governments. During the Annual Conference, NACo’s 10 policy steering
committees, board of directors and the general membership will consider proposed policy resolutions and platform language to guide NACo's advocacy efforts until the next NACo Annual
Conference in July 2025.

WA 988 Campaign Has Launched
The statewide 988 crisis launched this week. You will start to see or hear ads in your communities.
The purpose of the campaign is to provide resources to people in crisis in the state of Washington with a goal of building awareness and to drive action to prevent suicide. The primary
objectives are to increase awareness, understanding, and usage of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in Washington (which offers more than just suicide prevention), with a focus on reducing
disparities within priority populations. Additionally, to address coping skills and actionable tools to reduce depression, anxiety and stress, which is included in web resources and
other materials.
The English campaign starts the week of May 13. On May 20, the campaign will launch in Spanish. Also on May 20, some campaign materials will launch in Chinese (simplified and traditional),
Hindi, Khmer/Cambodian, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Tagalog, Telugu, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. Campaign assets include radio, TV, social media, print, and banner ads.
