SUBJECT: Request for Board of County Commissioners Approval: Housing Fund Board
Recommendation to Allocate$100,000 in the 2025 Budget to the Emergency
Shelter at the American Legion
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
During the May 22, 2024 Housing Fund Board meeting the Board approved a motion to
recommend a$100,000 2025 budget allocation from Fund 149, Homelessness Fund, for operating
the Emergency Shelter at the American Legion.
ANALYSIS:
The Emergency Shelter fills an important community need. The County has funded the shelter for
a number of years. This budget allocation will enable the shelter to continue to serve the needs of
the unhoused in our community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$100,000 to be paid from Fund 149, Homelessness Fund.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Board approve the recommendation of the Housing Fund Board to allocate $100,000 in
2025 from Fund 149, Homelessness Fund, for operating the Emergency Shelter and direct staff to
take-action as necessary during the Mid-biennium Review and Modification adoption process.
