WSAC Executive Director Eric Johnson Retires
Today, Eric Johnson, WSAC Executive Director, will officially hand the reins of leadership to Interim Executive Director Derek Young. Eric joined the WSAC staff in December 2005 and
has held the role of Executive Director since 2008. His public service has included working in park and natural resource administration at city, county, and state levels, with his first
county government experience at Lewis County Parks, Recreation, and Senior Service in 1984. Eric was elected in 2000 and re-elected in 2004 as a Lewis County Commissioner before making
his way to WSAC leadership.
The staff and members of the Washington State Association of Counties deeply appreciate Eric's leadership, voice, and wisdom that he has given to our state for 18 years and wish him

Adams County Planning Broadband Infrastructure Expansion
Construction could start as early as August on a project to bring fiber optic cable to the Ritzville and Lind areas. Adams County Public Works Director Todd O’Brien said fiber installation
in the two cities would be the first phase of a two-phase project. The second phase will be the addition of fiber in an area south of Othello.

Public Comment Deadline June 7: Draft 5-Year Homeless Housing Strategic Plan
The goal of this plan is to pursue bold actions to reduce homelessness in Washington, informed by both researched best practices and input from individuals with firsthand experiences
