June 5, 2024 NOTICE OF PETITION TO VACATE PORTIONS OF ROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY Jefferson County Public Works has received a petition from Robert Zimmermann and Elizabeth
Orling, joined by Rayonier Forest Resources, to vacate portions of Mitchell Street and Duffy
Avenue, two platted but unopened road rights-of-way off Thorndyke Road (see map below).
The Jefferson County Hearing Examiner will conduct a public hearing at 10:00 a.m. on July 26, 2024 to consider the request to vacate these road rights-of-way. This is a hybrid meeting, you are welcome to attend in-person or online via Zoom. IN-PERSON: 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368, in the Commissioners’

If you wish to provide comments on the request to vacate these portions of Mitchell Street and
Duffy Avenue, please submit those in writing (by mail or email to the undersigned) before July
12, 2024. This will allow time for your comments to be reviewed and included in a staff report
and presented for consideration by the Hearing Examiner in advance of the public hearing. All
comments received at or before the hearing will be included in the official record. You may also
give testimony directly to the Hearing Examiner during the public hearing.
