Do you have time tomorrow morning some to zoom and catch up. Too bad about the people at the Sprung pool, but a zoom briefing with them would probably work. I agree with all your notes. I thought the group discounted a one tank option, and most of the previous design points to a 2 tank option. I’m working on a spreadsheet I’m trying to get all the option into so we can try to turn options on or off… 3. Very true… I’ll send a draft agenda out this morning as well. But don’t want to use the other email address. The two key people we would like to talk to in Boise at the Sprung enclosed pool will both be out of town the weekend we are visiting (see email below). This is because they are heavily involved in swim team meets in the summertime so another weekend would likely be just as bad. However, I am sure we can get them to speak with us via Zoom at one of our upcoming meetings. I will be tracking Matt Sims down this week as well as I don’t think he responded to your email – is that correct? Having listened to both the meetings I missed, I have some observations to share when we chat this week. Here is a sample of my thoughts: 1. People really talk over each other… it is somewhat rude and I think makes it hard for everyone to jump in and for everyone to be heard. It is also hard to follow when you are watching online. I am going to mention this when I re-join the group. 2. At the May 20th meeting #3, Mary asked a key question toward the end of it, “what type of pool do we want to build?” It never got answered . . . she is asking whether there is agreement as to whether there should be 1, 2, 3 tanks and/or other amenities. Her question did not get addressed. And this has not been discussed since the inception of the group. Seems important to have some conversation on that soon. 3. At the end of the meeting #3, when the cost of building the Shore pool today came up, one piece of information that was not discussed is the fact that they were not starting from scratch, they already had a 25 yard pool which is in use today as part of the newer bigger facility. They had kept up with maintenance, and so could retain that element. I have copied Ryan Stratton on this email as well - he is in charge of Idaho Competitive Aquatics, the owner and operator of the facility. I can link you up with Chelsea as well and she would be able to discuss programming and swim lessons with you. As we talked about, the summer is very busy and unfortunately both Ryan and I will be out of town on the weekend that your group was hoping to visit. You are still able to come in and see the facility and have a swim and look around, there just won't be anyone available to answer some of the questions you all may have about the structure or its construction. Thanks again for reaching out and please let me know if you would like me to hop on a call with your group.
