Preliminary population estimates are being sent to the highest elected official in all local jurisdictions,city population contact persons,county and commissioner executives,county planners and regional planning agencies. The figures are provided for administrative review only and are subject to change.These population estimates should not be released to the public or to the press under any circumstances until they are finalized and released on OFM's website on June 28,2024. Please evaluate your jurisdiction's 2024 population estimate based on housing and population changes from 2020 to 2024.When reviewing your estimate please consider that many jurisdictions experienced substantial housing growth this year driven by the demand for housing earlier this decade. While population growth continues to be strong,it is lagging behind housing growth. For questions or concerns regarding your city's estimate,please email us at pop.estimates@ofm.wa.gov or contact your OFM analyst directly.Requests for revisions and supporting documentation must be received by close of business,June 20,2024.By statute,OFM must fmalize and release these figures on or before July 1,2024.
