Dear Commissioners,
I don't often write you. But today, there is an opportunity to support DNR's proposed expansion of the Dabob Bay Natural area into conservation. Please support this expansion, in the
name of future generations.
I am also requesting that DNR include the "West Dabob" area that was in the original request from Jefferson County. It will protect murrelet habitat and connect forests to the existing
Natural Area.
This is crucial for a fully functioning ecosystem.
I live on Marrowstone Is. and sometimes the wildlife see in the Dabob bay area ends up in our neck of the woods--namely cougars and elk. An intact ecosystem in the Dabob bay with globally
rare forests that are protected will be of benefit to our entire peninsula, as it will increase biodiversity for our lowland areas.
