Sehmel has over 17 years of experience in urban planning and community development in Washington and Oregon including her role as Community Development Director in Lincoln City, where
she led numerous initiatives to enhance urban planning, environmental sustainability, and economic development. In addition to planning roles in Gig Harbor, Puyallup, and Bremerton,
she served as the Service Planning Assistant Manager for Pierce Transit, overseeing complex planning activities and strategic processes that significantly improved operational efficiency
and community service.
Sehmel has an Executive Masters of Public Administration from the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy and Governance and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from the
University of Washington. She is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
