Good afternoon to all ,
We had an excellent meeting at Finn River on June 13 th and plan on having meetings scheduled the second Thursday monthly at Finn River starting at 9:00 am . Our next meeting is July
9,2024 and I will send a note prior to this meeting .
We are , " East Jefferson County Trail Connection " . We are a group of motivated interested non - motorized trail enthusiasts who have the keen understanding and appreciation that
having trails available to our residents have a positive effect on their/our health and well-being . Also , trails are community building and bring in tourism dollars to our area .
We formed committees to work on the Jefferson County Comp Plan 2025 , a trails route committee , and a committee to look at grants to fund various trail recommendations .
We will work with Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour to plan a future meeting with Jefferson County PW for an update . We will work closely with Jefferson County PW and be available to work
with their team .
Many things are actually happening here in Jefferson County with the hopeful start of the Milo Curry to Anderson Lake connection as well as the trail moving through the State Park in
the Spring of 2025 . We are also looking positively to the Tri-Area trail connection to Anderson Lake and the Larry Scott Trail/Olympic Discovery Trail .
The City of Port Townsend is working towards acquiring property to take the Larry Scott Trail/ODT to Eaglemount.
We need to work closely on the road/trail route from the Hoods Canal Bridge to Discovery Bay and be inclusive of Port Ludlow and Quilcene .
The Board of Directors of the Peninsula Trails Coalition has requested from our group ideas on naming the section of trail from the Hoods Canal Bridge to Discovery Bay . Please send
your ideas soon .
We will have more updates at our next meeting .
We appreciate each and every one of you .
This will take time but we will see our dreams into a reality because we believe we can do this .
As you drive our area , think non-motorized trails along roads and ROW and existing areas that will meet trail criteria . You may have key knowledge of a landowner or information and
influence that can bring our dreams to a reality sooner rather than later .
See you in July , if not sooner .
Wave and send a smile .

Good morning to everyone ,
It was one week ago today we met at Finn River and oriented ourselves to each other and to our land .
We discussed the need to interconnect our " trail town " communities with a non-motorized transportation route .
We found a lot of common enthusiasm and interest in bringing our energy together . With this common interest of establishing a non-motorized route from the Hoods Canal Bridge to Discovery
Bay , we decided as a group , to start meeting monthly on the second Thursday of each month until our process is completed and intact .

Many of you have in-depth experience and understanding establishing non-motorized routes to interconnect communities for the health and well-being of the communities and their residents
.
With the Puget Sound to Pacific Collaborative " Knocking " at our door - we as as a community force , need to be prepared to be intimately involved in the planning from the Hoods Canal
Bridge to Discovery Bay . The Time is NOW in this process .
Please , in the next few weeks , send me your ideas for agenda items for our June meeting . This a Team effort .
I will send out an email one week prior to our meeting .
I look forward to working with each and every one of you . I'm certain each and every one of you is as grounded in this process as I am .
Let's Visualize and Dream and bring this to a Reality . We can do this .
We will work closely as a team with our elected officials and our Jefferson County Public Works department .
This will be a very rewarding venture together and we will make it fun and serious .
Enjoy this day .
